Do your kids love Minecraft?  Code Play Learn is excited to offer our Minecraft Modding class for students in the 2nd-5th grades.

This class is ideal for new and returning MODDERS.

Participants will build their own Mods for Minecraft using a graphical coding modding tool that allows them to create complex Mods and learn about the JAVA programming language. Once they build their own Mods, they can run them in their own Minecraft games. 

All eight sessions will take place at Code Play Learn, 1723 S Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60616. Space is limited to the first 12 students.

Are your kids ready to explore JAVA coding?

Code Play Learn is excited to offer our Introduction to JAVA Coding class for 4th-8th graders.  Students will learn the fundamentals of the JAVA language as they build Minecraft Mods that they can test directly in their Minecraft game. 

Participants will need their own Minecraft account and be familiar with playing Minecraft on a PC. Once they build their Mods we will test them in server space set aside just for their user. This class is ideal for new and returning students.

Winter 2018 Computer Game Creation  Saturdays 12pm-12:55pm Grades 1st-3rd

Code Play Learn is excited to offer our Scratch Computer Game Creation class.  Using MIT's Scratch programming platform, students will create their own interactive media, including stories, games and animations. During our projects students will learn fundamental coding concepts including loops, decision statements, variables, mathematical operators, boolean logic, events and more.  This class is ideal for students in the 1st-3rd grades.

Each child will become a maker of technology rather than just a consumer of technology.  By incorporating interpersonal play with screen time each child develop his or her ability to think creatively, work collaboratively and reason systematically.
