VEX IQ Robotics Begins Monday April 2nd

VEX IQ is a VEX robotics platform created to allow younger students to explore and enjoy the VEX robotics universe.  Students, working in pairs, will construct a variety of VEX robots including the TANK and the ClawBot. 

This class is ideal for new and returning students.  Returning students will be able to pickup right where they left off.

After building their bots students will learn how to program and control them through the ModKit programming language. Their programs will allow them to create user driven and autonomous programs to see if they can complete a variety of tasks similar to what they might do in a VEX IQ competition.

All eight, 60 minute sessions will take place at Code Play Learn, 132 N. Ridgeland, Oak Park IL 60302. Space is limited.

NEW...ROBLOX CODING Begins Wednesday April 4th

Students will learn the fundamentals of coding while playing and designing with ROBLOX. 

ROBLOX is a safe interactive gaming platform that allows students to imagine, create, and code in an immersive 3d gaming world. Our tool provides campers with every thing they need to create their own game from scratch.  We use a drag-and-drop blocks coding library to teach coding fundamentals including; events, loops, variables, decision statements and more.  Best of all, ROBLOX is a free to download.

Minecraft Modding Begins Saturday April 7th

Code Play Learn is excited to continue offering our Minecraft Modding class for students in the 1st-4th grades. This class is great for new and returning MODDERS.

Participants will build their own Mods for Minecraft using a graphical modding tool that allows them to create complex Mods and learn about the JAVA programming language. Once they build their own Mods, they can run them in their own Minecraft games. 

All seven, 60 minute sessions will take place at Code Play Learn, 132 N. Ridgeland, Oak Park IL 60302. Space is limited to the first 12 students.

Introduction to Raspberry Pi Begins Sunday January 21st

Code Play Learn is excited to offer our Introduction to the Raspberry Pi at our Oak Park location.  This class is designed for 6th-10th graders that want to learn to explore how software and hardware combine to MAKE and CREATE.

The Raspberry Pi is a complete computer that allows us to explore coding and hardware. Our class encourages kids to tinker and ask "What if". We will explore the Python coding language to create programs that allow us to engage with LEDs, cameras and sound.  We will also see how we can use Python to hack into Minecraft and add our own code to the game.

Code Play Learn will provide all the technology necessary for this class.  Parents that want to stay and play are encouraged to particiate.
